For UK

14-day cooling-off period:
For most online and distance purchases, you have 14 days to change your mind and return the item.

Faulty goods:
If the product is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose, you have further rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which may include refunds, repairs, or replacements.

Notification and return:
You generally need to notify the seller within 14 days of receiving the item and then return it within 14 days after that notification.

Refunds:
If you are returning an item because you've changed your mind, the seller must refund you within 14 days of receiving the returned goods or receiving proof of postage.

Exceptions:
Some items are exempt from the standard 14-day return policy, such as personalized or perishable goods, or sealed items that have been opened.

Online vs. In-store:
The 14-day cooling-off period primarily applies to online or distance purchases. In-store purchases may have different return policies, often at the retailer's discretion.

Retailer's policy:
While the 14-day cooling-off period is a legal minimum, many retailers offer more generous return policies.

Proof of purchase:
It's always a good idea to keep your receipt or proof of purchase when returning items.

Faulty goods:
If you have a problem with a faulty product, it's best to contact the retailer first to discuss your options (refund, repair, or replacement).

Disputes:
If you can't resolve a dispute with the retailer, you can seek advice from Citizens Advice or other consumer rights organizations.
